Refunds & Exchanges 

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

As a consumer, you are entitled to the benefit of statutory consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law in respect of items purchased from the University of Melbourne.
‘Major failure’ means products where there is a significant departure between the goods supplied and their description, products that are unsafe, products that are substantially unfit for their purpose, or products that are defective and would not have been acquired by a reasonable consumer aware of the defect.

Please see the Australian Government website at for more information on your Australian Consumer Law rights. Where there is an entitlement for a refund, for example for non-delivery of goods or services or the customer is incorrectly charged, the product contact person should be contacted to initiate the process for a refund or enquire about the return address. The University of Melbourne does not offer any type of refund on goods that have been wrongly selected or change of mind.

Delivery Information 

You can contact the product contact person directly for confirmation of shipping or collection. Just go to the product page you ordered from and look for the contact information under the ‘Add to Cart’ button.

Click & Collect 

We offer a click & collect for a range of products. If you have selected click and collect, an email will be sent when your order is ready for collection.

When collecting your order please bring:

  • The credit card used to make the purchase
  • Valid photo ID
  • Your order number/copy of your order

You cannot nominate someone else to pick up your order.


As the University is currently migrating to a new online sales platform, delivery costs may vary by product. Please refer to the product description for detailed shipping information.

Please check that your delivery details are accurate and complete to ensure your purchases are sent to the correct address. Orders are normally dispatched from stock within 5 working days of your order being placed and your payment has been cleared. For urgent orders, please contact the store directly to discuss your requirements. Details are available on each product page under the “Add to Cart” button.
