All unfired clay must remain in the VCA Workshop until fired. Dried clay dust may cause lung disease. Always wear a P2 mask when sanding unfired clay.
A brown clay containing refractory grog of various sizes for structural strength. Toast is a versatile iron-bearing clay body that has been developed for hand-building. Suited to larger scale work. Fires pale terracotta and warm browns in oxidation through to cherry chocolate with textural orange flecks in reduction.
Glaze range 1100-1300oC Cone 03-10
% Shrinkage 1000oC Cone 06: 6.7%
