What is covered in the training? The training equips Tuning in to Kids® trained facilitators with the skills to deliver Tuning in to Toddlers, a program designed specifically for parents and carers of young children aged 12 months +. The program emphasises both strengthening parents’ and carers’ own emotion regulation and supporting the development of children’s emotional skills during their early years using emotion coaching.
Key areas of focus include:
- Understanding development in toddlers
- Using emotion coaching with young children who may be non-verbal
- Becoming more aware of the non-verbal aspects of emotion coaching
- Supporting parents in responding to separation, reconnection and tantrums
- Exploring parents’/carers’ meta-emotion, emotion regulation and self-care
- Using role plays more effectively in both individual and group settings
The training is highly experiential, incorporating practice activities and teach-backs to consolidate learning from the initial Tuning in to Kids® training and strengthen delivery skills.
Certification: Participants who complete the training will be certified as Tuning in to Toddlers facilitators. To receive certification, you must attend the full day.
Program and training materials: Your digital facilitator training materials will be emailed to you before the training, and include the training PowerPoint and Parent Handouts.
